Victorinox
With a trading history of over 100 years, this company produces the most iconic knife in the world. Synonymous with Swiss quality, outdoor pursuits and a certain way of life.
About the Brand
Victorinox was established 125 years ago by a cutler with a social conscience. Switzerland was not always as affluent as it is today and many nationals left the country to seek work. Karl Elsener set up his business to create work for the local community in Ibach-Schwyz and to help alleviate poverty. He went on to create a soldiers knife for the Swiss army before inventing the Swiss officer's and sports knife which we now know of as the Swiss army knife. This knife is now known and loved worldwide.
Swiss Made
The Swiss Army knife is still manufactured in Switzerland and remains an independent family company. 10% of their shares are owned by a non-profit company that supports charitable projects.
Sustainable
Victorinox are passionate about their environment and are constantly innovating to make their manufacturing processes greener. They have sourced local wood for their handles, recycle heat from blade production to warm their buildings and have teamed up with Nespresso to recycle coffee pods. They also believe in valuing and nurturing their staff, who are encouraged to exercise during working hours, and their staff turnover is less than two per cent.
