T-LAB
Japanese company T-Lab has collaborated with artisans to produce 'Polepole animals', tiny creatures hand-carved from wood. Simple, cute and endearing.
Based in Japan
T-Lab creates handmade wooden objects popular with adults and children alike. One of their collections is Polepole means slowly, slowly in Swahili, and T-Lab is proud of the love and care taken to produce each animal. They believe that special things take time.
From Hand to Heart
These delightful animals are carved and painted by hand by highly skilled craftspeople in Bali. Each animal is carved with a simple knife and painted with graphic precision; each animal is created with patience and care. Due to the handmade nature of these wooden pieces, no two have identical markings or facial expressions.
Sustainable
All of the Polepole animals are made from non-composite wood. They use Albizia , one of the fastest-growing tropical trees, making the wood a more sustainable choice. T-Lab work to further combat deforestation by planting more.
