Meet the Wedgies
British handicraft company Meet the Wedgies employ craftspeople from rural communities in Sri Lanka to create unique wooden products. Inspired by traditional craft techniques and contemporary icons, their doorstops are ethical, sustainable and fun.
Behind the Brand
Meet the Wedgies was founded by husband and wife team Mark and Hayley on the tropical island of Sri Lanka in 2014. Their business journey began when they met Mahendra, the owner of a small wooden craft workshop. They now work with local communities to produce innovative wooden products and supply over 100 stores worldwide.
Empowering Local Communities
Wedgies are an independent British handicraft company, but they still have close ties with Sri Lanka, where all their products are made locally. Unpainted doorstops, paints and tools are delivered to rural communities enabling them to incorporate the work into their daily lives. They are hand-painted, polished and packed, and all goods are paid for on collection. Wedgies are proud to be part of the creative, ethical shopping movement.
Made to Last
Wedgies doorstops are handcrafted out of quality Alstonia wood and durable matt paint. Each item is painted by hand, causing slight variations that make them unique.
Icons for the Home
Meet the Wedgies. Each doorstep is designed to depict an icon of pop, art or film. Every Wedgie is stamped with their official logo with a character description attached. A fun addition to the office or home.
