McNutt
Based in a seaside village on the West coast of Ireland, McNutt is a family mill with over 60 years of textile history. A wholesome alternative to fast fashion.
Behind the Brand
McNutt is based in Donegal on the West Coast of Ireland, which forms part of the Atlantic Way. They produce high-quality shawls, wraps and throws and often collaborate with international designers. This family-run business is deeply embedded in the local community, with almost every villager having worked at the mill. The founder's son now runs the mill, and although new technology is used, they still employ traditional methods to produce their wool and Donegal tweeds.
Sustainable
McNutt operates a policy of transparency and clearly state the origin of the fibres they use. They are currently developing and championing linen products with their #whylinen campaign in a push towards increased sustainability. Linen uses less water than cotton and is a versatile, strong fibre.
Provenance
As Champagne and Wensleydale cheese is to their region, so tweed is to the wild shores of Donegal. McNutt are currently working to trademark their tweed as it has a unique and distinctive twist.
