Antonio Mattei
Since 1858, Antonio Mattei has been producing Italian biscotti and confections in the historic bakery and shop located on Via Ricasoli, in the heart of the old city of Prato, Tuscany.
A Heritage Business
Established in the late 1800s in Prato, Italy, Antonio Mattei started life as a bakery making bread and pasta. After the bread was taken out of the oven on a Sunday, they would bake the delicacies - cantucci and biscotti. In 1920 they began to focus solely on confectionery, and over 100 years later, their biscuits are famous the world over.
Continuing the Tradition
At Antonio Mattei, their biscuits are still made using the finest ingredients, including free-range eggs and almonds. Their products are still packaged and tied by hand and sold in their traditional blue bags. In fact, their particular colour 'blu' has been trademarked for their use only.
